Newcomer Practical Tip 1: Initial Visit to Brussels

If you are making a short visit to Brussels whether to get an idea of what it is like to live and work here or for an interview - then you will be looking for accommodation and perhaps be interested in what is going on while you are here.

Initial visit: accommodation

Like most European capital cities, visitor accommodation (hotels, apartment-hotels, bed & breakfast) in Brussels is usually busy from Monday to Friday.

But at weekends visitor numbers are significantly lower and there is often a lot of empty accommodation, reflected in noticeably lower weekend prices. If you are coming for a weekend and are prepared to make a few enquiries by phone or email, you may be able to get an even better deal.
