Salans: Leading authority on EU law joins Salans' Global EU Competition Practice

International law firm Salans has announced that Professor David O’Keeffe will join the Global EU Competition Group as a Senior Counsel. David O’Keeffe is a specialist in EU affairs with particular emphasis on State aid and public procurement matters, areas in which he is considered one of the principal international authorities, and competition.

Professor O’Keeffe will work primarily in Brussels, with Edward Borovikov, and in London. Edward moved to Salans early this year with his first tier team to open a new office in Brussels.

David O’Keeffe has an impressive curriculum vitae in EU law. He has advised national governments and major international institutions, such as the EU Presidency, the European Parliament and the House of Lords, as well as large multinational corporations. This has covered State aid, public procurement, competition, trade and customs, and regulatory matters. David’s experience also comprises litigation in cases before the European Courts, including most recently the Mediaset case.

David is Emeritus Professor of European Law at University College London and has taught in many top universities in Europe. He  speaks English, French, Italian, and Dutch and is a regular speaker at international conferences. David has written over 200 publications on EU law. He was a member of the European Commission’s High Level Panel on free movement and has worked at the European Court of Justice.
