Palladian is organising EAST MEDITERRANEAN ENERGY LAW FORUM - Contributing to a better Investment Environment, under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Environment & Energy and the Hellenic Hydrocarbons Resources Management. The conference will take place on December 8th, 2017 at the Hotel N.J.V. Plaza, in Athens. The Forum will cover all latest developments in the upstream natural gas sector in Greece but also in the neighbouring countries Cyprus, Israel and Egypt.

THE FORUM

Oil & Gas exploration, production and exploitation, as well as the regulatory developments downstream, are in the daily news. Their legal aspects are as complex as their technical, financial and political aspects. The conference will focus on the legal aspects of the various stages of the oil and gas value chain from a public and private law perspective. As oil and gas activities develop, the requirements and pressure on lawyers to provide advice and solid solutions will intensify on all matters concerning business strategy, day-to- day commercial and financial management, evaluation and management of the substantial risks inherent is this complex field. Oil and Gas Law includes the regulatory framework for exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons, investment protection, private contracts ( joint operation agreements, farm-outs and farm-ins etc.), procurement contracts, complex facility construction contracts and pipeline construction, taxation law, environmental law, maritime contracts, insurance contracts, workers’ health and safety regulation, national and international dispute resolution and arbitration, financing contracts (private equity, debt and project finance), anti-trust and many more.

The conference aims at addressing legal aspects of oil and gas both upstream and downstream, taking into account both Greek and international experience.
