Hill & Knowlton International Belgium have appointed Michael Voordeckers as Associate Director on the EU Public Affairs team.

26 April, 2011 Hill & Knowlton International Belgium have appointed Michael Voordeckers as Associate Director on the EU Public Affairs team. He had previously worked as an Adviser to the Federation of Belgian Enterprises and as a Lawyer for Storme-Leroy-Van Parys.
With more than 10 years of experience in local government administration and EU political organisations, Voordeckers brings a high level of expertise in connecting national and private sector objectives to the EU agenda to Hill & Knowlton, particularly with regards to climate and the environment. He also has an in-depth knowledge of the Belgian political and business landscapes and will be advising clients on both Belgian and EU issues.
Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, he worked across various sectors, including serving as a Ghent City Councillor and as an Adviser to the Federation of Belgian Enterprises (FBE). In this latter capacity, he advocated on behalf of employers’ interests at the national and EU levels. He also conducted several studies on the Lisbon Strategy and European R&D and was responsible for the FBE’s dossier on climate change on the European and international levels.
Voordeckers has a Master’s in Law from the University of Ghent and an MBA from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. In 2010, he received the Eisenhower Fellowship, which recognises emerging leaders from around the world.
