Description:

This course will provide you with an update on the legal issues in European public procurement. Legal experts and practitioners will explain in an accessible manner the recent legal developments and recent case law in the field of European public procurement.

The first part of the course will concentrate on recent developments in public procurement at European level and the second part will be devoted to recent case law.

You will receive an insight into the recent jurisprudence of the General Court. This case law relates to challenges to contract awards by the EU institutions/agencies/bodies and is based on procurement under the Financial Regulation. Special attention will be given to the recent case law of the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) in the field of procurement. In addition, the essence of the remedies directives and the related case law will be presented and interpreted for you.

This course is part of the programme for obtaining EIPA’s European Certification for public procurement professionals.

What will you learn:

At the end of this course you should have a good understanding of:

  • the current legal developments in procurement at European level;
  • the recent jurisprudence of the CJEU and its implications in the field of procurement, including remedies;
  • the recent jurisprudence of the General Court and its implications for the application of the rules.
