Brulex Winter League 2009 - 2010 and Summer Cup 2010 - Final Results, Rankings and Statistics

As was already known, White & Case have become the Premier League champions. Olympique Berquin, last year's Second League champions, Linklaters and Racine & Vergels have been relegated to the Second League after an exciting relegation battle with Stibbe and Clifford Chance.

Oh my, oh my, the World Cup 2010 only started about two hours ago and we already have a winner!

Premier League

Following its victory against Van Bael & Bellis and German Lawyers United's end-of-season blues (a draw against Olympique Berquin and a surprise loss against Racine & Vergels that marks their first points of the season), White & Case cannot be threatened anymore and crowns itself for the first time as brulex premier league champions. Congratulations to Anthony Dawes and his team, which was without any doubt the most consistent throughout the season!

Arguably even more exciting is the bottom of the ranking: no less than four teams (Clifford Chance, Stibbe, Olympique Berquin and Linklaters) are within a two-points range, and only two of these four teams will be able to remain in next year's premier league. What is even more exciting, is the fact that each of these four teams have to play against each other on the occasion of their last game of the season. Their mission is simple: whoever wins its respective game, will remain in the premier league!

Brulex: Results and Rankings 17 May 2010

This year's edition of the premier league is arguably the tightest ever, both at the top of the ranking and in the relegation zone. White & Case remains in the lead, closely followed by Van Bael & Bellis and German Lawyers United. However, these three teams still have to play against each other, which means that the 2009 - 2010 premier league championship will probably only be decided during the two very last games of the season, both played on 24 June. In the relegation zone, Racine & Vergels is the first team to be mathematically sure of relegation. In the meantime, Stibbe, Olympique Berquin, Clifford Chance and Linklaters are all within relegation reach. As for the teams at the top of the ranking, each of these teams will have to win its final two or three games to avoid relegation.

Brulex: Results and Rankings April 2010

In the premier league, White & Case remains in the lead. Van Bael & Bellis jumped over German Lawyers United following their narrow 3-2 victory against the latter, but German Lawyers United still have one game in hand.

In the second league, the championship battle regained force following another narrow 3-2 defeat of leader Loyens & Loeff against Laga. Both teams, together with van Cutsem Wittamer Marnef, remain strong contestants for the title.

And in the third league, Howrey ° Sidley still tops the ranking ahead of Altius ° Tiberghien and Liedekerke.

Two games into the new season and Laga and CEDUSA lead the Third League with six points each. DLA Piper and Square de Meeus 40 remain at the bottom of the table with zero points.

After two matches the Second League table is led by Clifford Chance, Linklaters, and Olympique Berquin. Meanwhile Howrey Sidley, NautaDutlih and Liedekerke have yet to record their first point.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has become the Brulex premier league champions for the second time in five years. Congratulations go to Khalid and his team!

Van Bael & Bellis was unable to obtain a surprise championship title during its first participation in the premier league ever.

Linklaters, Liedekerke and Allen & Overy are relegated to the brulex second league.

Brulex-2008: Second League Fixtures, Results, Table

Mayer Brown, albeit with the lowest number of points ever, has eventually emerged as the brulex second league champions 2007 - 2008. Congratulations to Patricio and his team as well!

Racine & Vergels took second spot and Olympique Berquin also qualify for promotion to the brulex premier league.

Brulex-2007 League 1: Final Rankings & Results

Stibbe are League 1 champions for the third consecutive season. Freshfields, despite running the champions close for most of the season, came second.

Vergels-Racine, Eubelius and Nauta Dutlih/Jones Day have been relegated to League 2.

Brulex Summer Cup - Information

The Brulex 2007 summer cup takes place on Sunday 3 June. Fifteen to twenty Brussels-based law firm teams will compete in the annual one-day 6-a-side football tournament.

Brulex-2007 League 2: Final Rankings & Results

Van Bael & Bellis are League 2 champions. Impressively the team went unbeaten throughout the whole season. Liedekerke took the runners-up position. Olympique Berquin and Linklaters will soon play a one-off match to determine the third promoted team.

Please note: On 12.03.07 the brulex organising committee announced CMS DeBacker would no longer be participating in the brulex second league due to a high number of match cancellations.

To treat the other second league teams equally, all teams were granted a 10-0 forfeit victory for their two games against CMS DeBacker. All games against CMS DeBacker have been accounted for in the attached tables of rankings and results.
