Blog Week 120: The unbearable loneliness of being (here).
9 March to 15 March Year 4
Ever wondered what life is really like in an international law firm? Here's your chance.
Two Anglo-Saxon law firms have announced an unexpected plan to merge. Both firms’ main European law practices are based in Brussels. In order to encourage integration among both firms’ teams, one lawyer and one support staff member has been asked to immediately switch offices to pioneer the initial Brussels office integration process.
So far there has been one volunteer to make the switch between Avenue Louise and Rue de la Loi. Enticed by the promise of a pay increase, gym membership and possibly even a company car, M, a secretary, has (perhaps too quickly?) agreed to the temporary switch.
To serve as a catalyst for integration, M has been asked to write a daily blog for each firm’s intranet describing the successful experience of office integration in Brussels.
Meanwhile, M has started her own private blog, telling the world what life in a major law firm is really like; discussing everything from office politics and stupidities to how her work affects her private life..
